Last week was spent in the fresh mountain air of the Cameron Highlands and the weekend in the historical harbour town of Melaka.
On one of my strolls through the alleys of Melaka I walked upon another scene for my ´Flowers Must Die´-series when I saw this leaf laying on a decaying couch.

Definitely an interesting texture shot!! Love the richness of the red petal.
Thank you, Judy! Never seen something like that petal before as well; it was maybe around 12cm big or so!
Have a great week, Ron.
The leaf looks as much fabric as the couch, extraordinary. And all is a wonderful abstract.
Hello Judith, I still have no clue if it is a leaf or a flower petal but it had great colour and texture, so I thought I wanted it in my series 😉
Thank you for taking such a thorough look at it!
Greetings, Ron.
What a wonderful image! Fabulous textures and contrasts of shapes, lines and color.
Thanks very much, Earl! As one of my ´rules´ in this series I will photograph as I found it (no touching!), which was a lot of fun with this one to look for the right angle and composition with all these options!
Thanks for noticing and greetings, Ron.
Wonderful and Fascinating! Cheers
Thanks very much, Laura. Sometimes even a dying flower can be a colorful sight!

Greetings, Ron.
Stunning color! wow
Thanks a lot, Laurie! I cannot believe some of the flowers in this part of the world and a left-to-deteriorate couch is my favorite background 😉
Hope you´re having a great weekend, Ron.
Beautiful simplicity, and you have captured such amazing detail in the flower petal.
Thank you, Lisa! I´m not even sure if its a petal or a leave, couldnt find the tree it fall of off 😉
But to make it fit in the series I branded it a flower!
Hope all is well, greetings, Ron.
I’m not sure which I love more. That flower petal or the rotting cushion it rests on. Fabulous. I need to sort out why your pics don’t always end up in my feed. I am already following your blog, but never saw this one.
Hi Noelle, thanks very much for your enthousiasm. No clue about not showing up in the feed, i sometimes have that with blogs I follow and for some strange reason i always think that unfollow and follow again works for me 😉
Hope you have a great weekend, Ron.
Fantastic texture 🙂
Thank you, Paula! I love it when people just randomly leave their couch for photographers like me (or resting people for that matter 😉
Have a great weekend, Ron.
Super textures, contrasts and composition
Thanks very much, Louis, it was a great find in that dead end alley 😉
Have a great weekend, Ron.
Great! Doesn’t even look like a flower petal 🙂
Thanks a lot, Chenias! Actually i´m not sure if it is a leaf or a petal, it was huge, like 12cm or so…
Have a great weekend, Ron.
Wonderful colours and textures. Love the contrast between the brightly coloured leaf and the old and worn couch covering.
